Who are we?

A team of women who want to inspire children to change the world through their love for the arts. While me and my partner are both business school graduates, we’re also practicing artists in our own ways.

I love acrylic painting while she loves music and plays the guitar.  Our team of instructors are practicing artists who did study Fine Arts. We've got you covered for oil painting, watercolours, digital media and much more.

What do we do?

We offer a one of a kind art learning experience to school age children, and sometimes adults too.
Our art classes are not your typical drawing and painting classes. We combine teaching the different art materials with art history, culture and geography. We also give special attention to student creativity and self expression.

Where do we do it?

We have our very own studio located in New Maadi in a quiet neighborhood. We offer art CCA activities at Malvern College Egypt. We also offer online classes for those outside the country.  And recently, we’ve started offering our services in the form of home visits in New Cairo.

Why do we do it?

Art has the power to change the world, to change how people think and to allow everyone to have a voice. Children need that outlet for the thoughts or feelings they can't explain in words. Art education also offers a wide variety of benefits to children. The most important one, in our opinion, is that it makes them feel happy and confident. That smile on a student's face as they show their artwork with pride is our biggest reward.

Why should I care?

We put a lot of thought into everything we offer you! We group children by similar ages so the classes can suit their learning abilities. We use age appropriate materials and art subjects so you don't have to worry about more supplies. We even offer you a loyalty program, sibling discounts and class invitations for your family and friends.

I’m loving this, what should I do next?

You can sign up for one of our group classes, or private classes if you prefer. All you need to do is fill out the registration form. We will contact you to confirm your booking and answer any questions you may have.

Letter from our founder!

I’m Eman Abdelbakey, and I'm the founder of Smart Art. I have a sidekick by my side (don’t tell her I said that) who’s the co-owner and my best friend, Dina Aboul-Enein.

I started Smart Art in 2015 because I wanted to change the world and I wanted to do it through the future of this world; children. Ever since I was in kindergarten, I dreamed of becoming an artist, but fate had other plans for me. I ended up studying something that I wasn't all that excited about, but my journey never ended there and I continued to pursue my art education at every chance I got. My career took me on different paths and I ended up changing careers and fields more often than I changed my clothes. Alright it wasn't that many, but it was certainly a lot for ten years. Eventually I realized that I couldn't keep running from my dream, so I quit everything I knew and took on the biggest challenge of my career, and life so far, and I created what I like to think of as a safe place for children to be who they want to be. A place where they are free to explore, make mistakes, learn about art and life through experiences and stories and, most importantly, have fun.

If you want to know more about us, keep following us or talk to me, I'm happy to tell the story to anyone who will listen. or you can just talk to the parents who have blessed us with being part of our growing family for weeks, months or years.
